Betty is 10 years old and is currently enrolled in primary one. She loves counting in school, art, and jump roping with friends. She is sweet, curious, and always looking to help others. Betty lives with her mother and five siblings in a poor farming village in Uganda. Because her mother, a small scale farmer, is the sole supporter of her family, it is unlikely that she will be able to send Betty to school for the remainder of her education.
