We are continually seeking to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community, state, country and the world. In the summer months our primary focus is to love and serve the hundreds of International Work and Travel Students that spend 3-4 months right here in Sevier County, primarily Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
During the rest of the year our goal is to reach out and love those whom society has deemed unlovable. Our county has a high population of working poor. Many work 2 or 3 jobs just to make ends meet. Homelessness for those who didn’t find the dream they were seeking or are just passing through is a deep concern for Mountains Of Hope, Inc. and we want to love and serve them as Jesus would have.
We feel there is a disconnect between simply, meeting physical needs, and building lasting relationships through ministering.
According to Lifeway research, 53 percent of Americans have read relatively little of the bible. one in ten have read none of the bible. We will strive to provide bibles and discipleship.
We feel God has placed a vision in our hearts to take the church to those who do not feel that a church “building” is approachable. We are willing to get our hands dirty, and do ministry wherever God leads.
We will begin by meeting physical needs, providing training for rising above impoverished circumstances such as: filling out job applications, providing clothing, food, and hygiene products.
Mountains of Hope will not be a one stop shop. We wish to build lasting relationships, and teach those we encounter how to live out the great commission in their own lives.
We have some big dreams about how we believe God is going to use Mountains Of Hope, Inc. to reach those on the fringe stay connected to us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with the latest developments in this aspect as well as any other areas of our ministry.
